Paris welcomed 50,000 runners for the 2026 Paris Half Marathon, with Kennedy Kimutai and Ftaw Zeray taking the wins as crowds cheered along the Seine and through the Bois de Vincennes.
The 2026 Paris Half Marathon took place on Sunday, March 8, bringing tens of thousands of runners to the streets of the French capital.
Around 50,000 participants gathered at Place de la Bastille early in the morning to start the 21.1 kilometer race, one of the most popular road running events in Europe.
The course led runners through central Paris, along the banks of the Seine, and into the Bois de Vincennes before finishing the half marathon distance. Spectators lined parts of the route, cheering on both elite athletes and amateur runners who came to test themselves on the iconic city course.
Kenyan runner Kennedy Kimutai won the men’s race with a time of 1:00:11. His performance was slightly faster than his winning time from last year’s event. Fellow Kenyan Timothy Misoi finished second in 1:00:39, while South Africa’s Thabang Mosiako took third place in 1:00:42.
French runner Victor Moreau was the top local finisher, placing ninth overall with a time of 1:03:14. Igor Bougnot followed closely behind in tenth place, finishing just two seconds later.
In the women’s race, Ethiopia’s Ftaw Zeray claimed victory and set a new course record with a time of 1:05:12. Uganda’s Sarah Chelangat finished second in 1:06:29, while Kenya’s Mercy Chepwogen took third place with the same time.
