The race took place during the February 27–28 event at Moonlight Basin, which brought together motorsport drivers, rare vehicles, and thousands of spectators. Nike called the challenge “Man vs. Machine.”
ACG athlete Liam Meirow ran a full lap on an icy course at nearly 8,000 feet above sea level. He wore prototype spiked Ultrafly running shoes designed for traction on frozen ground.

During the race, Meirow briefly stopped to hand a cup of hot chocolate to Ferdi Porsche, the founder of FAT Ice Race. He then continued the run and finished the lap. The car had already crossed the finish line.

The race was part of Nike ACG’s effort to showcase new outdoor gear.
At the event, the company also opened an ACG Basecamp where visitors could see upcoming products. These included the prototype Ultrafly shoes and the Therma-FIT Air Milano Jacket.
A limited ACG x FAT International 2026 clothing collection was also available.
The FAT Ice Race originally started in Austria and has grown into an international winter motorsport event that mixes car culture with outdoor activities.
