Hybrid racing, which blends running with strength-based workout stations, has grown rapidly in recent years. Athletes often switch between sprinting, sled pushes, lunges, and wall balls within the same event.

Until now, many racers have had to choose between lightweight racing shoes and more stable training footwear.

The Adizero Dropset Elite was developed at adidas’ Innovation Lab in Germany in collaboration with elite hybrid athletes, including two-time HYROX world champion Tim Wenisch. Wenisch wore the shoe during his win at the HYROX Elite 15 Male Singles race in Melbourne in December 2025.

The shoe features Lightstrike Pro foam for cushioning and energy return, an Energy Rim structure for added heel stability, and a Continental rubber outsole designed for grip on different surfaces, including indoor carpet. It also includes a 12mm heel drop to support efficient movement during strength stations.

The Adizero Dropset Elite will be available from March 18 for €275 through adidas’ official website.
