Vegan athlete Fiona Oakes is running 625 miles this December to raise funds for her animal sanctuary. With over 50 years of veganism and four world records, Fiona balances running with caring for 400 rescued animals. Follow her inspiring journey!

A Marathon Effort for a Noble Cause

Fiona Oakes, a legendary vegan athlete and advocate, is running an astonishing 625 miles this December to raise funds for her Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary in Essex, England.

This remarkable challenge involves running 25 miles daily from December 1 to 25, equivalent to completing eight consecutive Park Runs each day.

Running for a Purpose

The number 625 symbolizes the daily cost (in pounds) of feeding the sanctuary's 400 rescued animals. With winter expenses rising and a cost-of-living crisis looming, this initiative is vital.

A challenge sponsor will double all funds raised, which currently stands at over £21,560.

Balancing Running with Sanctuary Work

Fiona's passion and love for animals saw her open Tower Hill Stables Animals Sanctuary in 1996.

Fiona’s dedication goes beyond running. She continues her daily sanctuary duties while completing this grueling challenge.

Having run 500 miles last December and 52 miles on Christmas Eve the year prior, this is her most ambitious goal yet.

A Lifetime of Compassion and Endurance

Vegan since the age of six, Fiona Oakes founded Tower Hill Stables in 1993 to provide a safe haven for animals, many rescued from the farming industry.

She is a four-time world record marathon runner who exemplifies thriving on a vegan lifestyle for over 50 years.

This December, she aims to inspire others by showing that endurance, compassion, and dedication can achieve incredible results.

Daily updates are available on her Instagram and Patreon accounts, keeping supporters motivated and informed.
