Rosa Mota Shatters F65 10K World Record with an Incredible 38:23

Among the participants in the 10K SS Vallecana race was the legendary Rosa Mota, the Portuguese Olympic, World, and European marathon champion from the 1980s, who is now 66 years old (turning 67 in June).

Rosa Mota, who is having an impressive second career as a master runner, finished the 10K race in 38:23 (net time, 38:25 gross time), significantly improving her own W65 world record of 38:45, set in Valencia almost a year ago.

Rosa Mota currently holds multiple W65 world records:

  • 10K (the first and only woman over 65 to break the 40-minute barrier)
  • 15K with 1:00:37, achieved during the Valencia Half Marathon (October 2023)
  • 20K with 1:21:17, also set en route in Valencia
  • Half Marathon with 1:25:52

Her achievements continue to redefine what’s possible in master athletics!
